Owners Roger and Cindy Lockwood opened the doors to #1 Cycles & Machines over 20 years ago in Glendale, Arizona. Roger’s interest in Harley-Davidson motorcycles began with the purchase of his first Harley in 1979. With the help of his dad, an International Harvester mechanic for over 30 years, they made many modifications to that bike. When all was said and done, Roger was the “leader of the pack.” Roger has been riding, racing, building and modifying Harleys ever since.
In 1986, Roger wanted to try his luck at drag racing and decided to build a 74″ shovelhead. He entered it in the modified FL class at the AMRA drag races and ran 11.53 at 118 mph. This only “fueled the fire” so to speak, and as time went on, Roger found himself fixing and modifying other people’s bikes out of his garage. Friends and family suggested that Roger open his own shop, so he did just that. And as they say, the rest is history.
